With a wealth of experience in aligning organisational goals with individual aspirations, Alexia sheds light on the dynamic world of talent acquisition within the realm of Human Resources. Her expertise in fostering collaboration, maintaining agile recruitment processes, and championing diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives offers invaluable insights into the evolving landscape of talent acquisition:

What initially drew you to a career in talent acquisition, specifically to the role you hold at Hightekers? Could you share a bit about your journey and what motivated you to specialise in this area within HR?

What motivated me to specialise in this area within HR is the profound impact it has on both individuals and the organisations they contribute to. Witnessing the impact of bringing the right people into the right roles and creating an environment where they can thrive has been incredibly rewarding. I am particularly drawn to the challenge of aligning individuals with organisations, not just based on skill sets but also on shared values and a mutual commitment to growth. This intersection of aligning personal and organisational goals is, to me, the essence of effective talent acquisition. In specialising in this field, I have always aimed to bridge the gap between individuals seeking meaningful and fulfilling careers and the organisation striving to build high-performing teams.

What drew me to the role at Hightekers was the seamless progression from years of collaborating with the company. Having actively participated in and witnessed the growth of various teams during this partnership, the decision to continue supporting the company and its people from an internal perspective felt like a natural and compelling next step. The prospect of having a direct impact from the inside, contributing to the company’s ongoing development, and being an integral part of its success story further drove my enthusiasm for taking on this role.

What aspects of your role do you find most fulfilling or rewarding? Are there particular achievements or moments in your career at Hightekers that stand out to you?

One of the aspects of my role that I find incredibly fulfilling is witnessing individuals thrive in their respective roles. It’s truly rewarding to observe their professional growth and see them make positive contributions to the business. Throughout my career at Hightekers, there have been numerous standout moments. From the successful recruitments we’ve accomplished over the years to witnessing the thriving and expansion of departments across different locations, all have contributed to the overall sense of accomplishment and pride.

How do you ensure that the recruitment processes remain agile and adaptable in a rapidly changing job market or industry?

In this ever-changing market, the ability to remain agile and adaptable is crucial in recruitment. Here at Hightekers, we achieve this by gaining a comprehensive understanding of the market before launching a new role. From assessing demand, availability, to establishing benchmarks, we then coordinate with specific stakeholders to craft a recruitment strategy tailored to the unique requirements of the position.

Furthermore, fostering open communication with the hiring team throughout the recruitment process is the priority. This ensures quick adjustments and proactive responses to emerging challenges in the dynamic job landscape. It’s this combination of strategic planning and continuous communication that enables us to navigate the evolving market with agility and effectiveness.

Collaboration with hiring managers is vital for successful talent acquisition. Can you discuss your approach to building and maintaining strong relationships with various stakeholders within the organisation to better understand their hiring needs and ensure alignment with company goals?

Absolutely, fostering strong collaboration with hiring managers is key to our approach for successful talent acquisition at Hightekers. Regular and open communication is at the core of building and maintaining these relationships. We initiate frequent discussions to deeply understand the hiring needs of various departments, ensuring alignment with the whole company goals.

To enhance our understanding, we conduct regular check-ins and feedback sessions, where we actively listen to the requirements and insights of hiring managers and team members. Keeping hiring managers informed about the progress of ongoing recruitment processes, challenges faced, and potential solutions creates a collaborative environment. This shared understanding allows us to be more responsive and adaptive to the evolving needs of different stakeholders within the organisation. In essence, our approach is rooted in proactive communication, mutual understanding, and a shared commitment to achieving our common goals.

Diversity, equity, and inclusion are increasingly important in today’s workplace. How do you incorporate these principles into the recruitment processes at Hightekers, and what specific steps do you take to foster a diverse and inclusive candidate pool?

At Hightekers, our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) runs deep, and we actively weave these principles into our recruitment processes. This includes employing inclusive language in our job descriptions, ensuring that role criteria are based on skills and qualifications, and diversifying interview panels. We incorporate various steps to ensure that our overall recruitment processes and evaluations are both equitable and balanced.

Our dedication to DEI doesn’t stop at recruitment; it extends throughout our workplace. We take pride in our international team at Hightekers, considering our diverse background a source of strength. This commitment to diversity isn’t confined to recruitment; we actively foster and endorse an inclusive workplace culture, ensuring that every employee, regardless of background, not only feels valued but also has equal opportunities for both personal and professional success. Recognizing that we still have a long way to learn, we are committed to taking steps whenever possible to continuously improve and implement DEI initiatives within the organisation.
